Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has returned to the United Kingdom following a tragic car accident in Nigeria that left him with minor injuries but killed two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

Joshua, 36, was a passenger in the vehicle when it collided with a stationary truck near Lagos last week. While he was treated for minor injuries and discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve, his friends tragically lost their lives in the crash. On Sunday morning, Anthony Joshua shared images on social media showing him seated alongside relatives of the deceased, one holding a framed photograph of Ghami.
