Promoter Dr. Ezekiel Adamu has confirmed plans to stage British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua’s first-ever bout on African soil in early 2026. The fight is expected to take place at the 50,000-capacity Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

His potential opponents could be Tony Yoka, France’s heavyweight boxer of Cameroonian descent; Martin Bakole, Congo’s heavyweight contender and Deontay Wilder, Former WBC champion with Nigerian roots. Dr. Adamu, CEO of Balmoral Group, stated that talks with Joshua’s camp have been very positive. “If we had an offer from Nigeria, it’s a match made in heaven,” Adamu revealed, quoting Joshua’s team.  Also Read: Idris Elba Hails Lagos as “Most Amazing City” After Film Shoot
