BBC Apologises to Trump Over Misleading Speech Edit

By Reporter 5

The BBC has formally apologised to United States President Donald Trump after admitting that one of his speeches was edited in a misleading way, but the broadcaster insists the incident does not amount to defamation.

The apology was conveyed in a letter sent by BBC chairman Samir Shah to the White House, acknowledging the error and expressing regret over the edit. The disclosure came on Thursday, following mounting criticism of the broadcaster’s handling of Trump-related coverage.
