British Broadcasting Corporation, Director General Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness have both resigned following mounting criticism over the editing of a documentary featuring U.S. President Donald Trump. The resignations stem from a documentary titled “Trump: A Second Chance?”, which aired recently and included an edited version of Trump’s January 6, 2021 speech. According to a leaked internal memo published by The Telegraph, the documentary spliced together two separate parts of Trump’s speech, spoken over 50 minutes apart, making it appear as though he was inciting the Capitol Hill riot.
