Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has been charged with false declaration of assets and acceptance of about N70million bribe.

The allegations were brought against him in a four-count charge filed by Peter Danladi of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on October 8, 2015. Orubebe was alleged to have requested and accepted the sums of fifty million naira and twenty million naira from one Pastor (Dr) Jonathan Alota, as bribe for contracts awarded in favour of his company, Chemtronics Nigeria Limited. Confirming the development, the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT)’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Al-hassan, said summon was served on the ex-minister on October 29. He added that the tribunal has scheduled his (Orubebe’s) arraignment for November 9. Also Read: Willy Boly Extends Nottingham Forest Stay with New One-Year Deal
