Inmates at Paris’s La Santé prison have issued death threats against former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, prompting an investigation by the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The threats were made in a video posted online, where inmates can be heard threatening to kill Sarkozy in revenge for the death of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. Sarkozy began serving a five-year sentence at La Santé prison this week for conspiring to finance his 2007 presidential campaign with funds from Libya.
