A massive fire tore through a newly opened commercial building, Corniche Hypermarket Mall in the eastern Iraq city of Kut late Wednesday night, killing at least 61 people and leaving 11 others missing, according to the Iraqi Interior Ministry.

The five-story commercial building, which housed a supermarket and restaurant, had only been open for a week. Most victims reportedly died from suffocation, with 14 bodies so badly burned they remain unidentified. Also Read: Trump Authorizes $300M in Weapons for Ukraine
