As of June 27, 2025, hashtags are no longer permitted in advertisements on X (formerly Twitter), following a platform-wide policy update announced by owner Elon Musk.

The change applies exclusively to paid promotional content. Regular users can still include hashtags in their personal posts, and the feature remains functional for non-sponsored content.
