Russia launched a staggering 629 aerial weapons overnight into August 28, 2025, targeting multiple regions across Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the attack included 598 Shahed-type drones and decoys, alongside 31 missiles of various types. The capital city, Kyiv, bore the brunt of the assault. At least 14 people were killed, including three children aged 2, 14, and 17, and 48 others were injured, according to local officials. The strikes damaged over 20 locations across seven districts, including residential buildings, a shopping mall, and offices of the European Union mission and the British Council.
