Money Laundering: Suswam’s Trial Truncated

By Editor

The arraignment of former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam was on Wednesday stalled at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

This is because no judge has been assigned to handle the matter. Suswan was billed to be arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over allegations bordering on money laundering, to the tune of N3 billion. The EFCC had disclosed that it was set to arraign Suswam after it filed a nine-count charge against the former governor. The agency said the offence levelled against the former governor is punishable under Section 15 (3) of the Money Laundering (prohibition) Act of 2011 as amended in 2012.
