President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will address a joint session of the National Assembly on June 12, as Nigeria commemorates Democracy Day. The event, themed “26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development,” will take place at the House of Representatives chamber in Abuja.

Speaking ahead of the occasion, Akin Rotimi, spokesperson for the House of Representatives, confirmed that the session will begin at the National Assembly at 11:00 a.m., with President Tinubu expected to deliver his speech at noon. Lawmakers from both chambers will gather to reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey and discuss the country’s path forward.
