Nepal has plunged into chaos as violent anti-government protests swept across the capital, claiming the life of Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal. She died tragically after protesters set fire to the couple’s residence in the Dallu area of Kathmandu. The unrest, driven largely by Gen Z demonstrators, erupted after the government imposed a controversial ban on social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and X. Although the ban was lifted within 24 hours, the move ignited deeper frustrations over corruption, nepotism, and economic stagnation. Chitrakar was trapped inside the burning home and later succumbed to her injuries at Kirtipur Burn Hospital. Her husband, Khanal, was rescued by the Nepali Army moments before the house was engulfed in flames. Also Read: Espanyol Fan Sentenced for Racial Abuse of Iñaki Williams
