Police Quizes Wasiu Ayinde over Student’s shooting in Ogun

King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1, faced police questioning on Tuesday at the Ogun State Command. The fuji icon answered questions about the shooting of an Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) student three weeks ago.

He arrived at the Eleweran Command headquarters around 11 a.m. and spent six hours with operatives of the Criminal Investigative and Intelligence Bureau (CIIB) before securing bail.   The incident happened on October 10 at a hotel in Ago-Iwoye during a party to mark Ago-Iwoye Day. One of Wasiu’s band members allegedly shot Azeez Kofoworola, a Business Education student, while he sat inside an unregistered Honda Accord owned by an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Hassan Afeez.   The shooting forced an abrupt end to the show. Doctors at the General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode treated Kofoworola.   Police had earlier invited Wasiu for interrogation, but he ignored the calls until yesterday. Though the exact charges remain unclear, officers questioned him for almost six hours before granting bail. A surety guaranteed his release and must produce him whenever needed.   Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the interrogation. He said the case was now with the CIIB under the “CP’s shooting incidence.” Oyeyemi added that KWAM 1 left Eleweran Command around 5:30 p.m. and promised to return for further investigations.     Also Read: Chris Wilder to Leave Sheffield United
