Suspect Arrested In Second Assassination Attempt On Trump Pleads Not Guilty
By Editor
Ryan Wesley Routh pleads not guilty to attempting to assassinate Donald Trump, facing five charges including assassination attempt, gun charges, and assaulting an officer. Routh appears in federal court, wearing tan prison scrubs and glasses, stating he understands the charges.
Prosecutors allege Routh stalked Trump in Florida for a month, setting up a “sniper’s nest” near the golf course. Armed with a Soviet-designed rifle and bulletproof plates, Routh had a clear shot of the 6th hole green when Trump was golfing.
A Secret Service agent spots Routh, opens fire, and Routh flees in a car, arrested by local police later. Investigators find a letter Routh allegedly left, stating, “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you… I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job” ¹ ².
