A plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky has claimed the lives of seven people and left eleven others injured, after a UPS cargo aircraft burst into flames shortly after takeoff on Tuesday evening. A UPS Flight 2976 was departing from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport en route to Honolulu when it crashed moments after liftoff. The aircraft, a McDonnell Douglas MD-11, reportedly reached an altitude of just 175 feet before making a sharp descent and striking nearby buildings.
