Early Wednesday morning, a portion of the Gambhira Bridge in Gujarat’s Vadodara district collapsed, sending multiple vehicles into the Mahisagar River and claiming at least 11 lives, including members of the same family.

Rescue Efforts and Eyewitness Accounts Emergency services, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local fire brigades, rushed to the scene. Rescue operations were stopped by strong river currents, but nine people were rescued, and several others were hospitalized with injuries.
