The US House Appropriations Committee convened a joint congressional briefing today to examine the rising violence and targeted persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The meeting, led by Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart, aimed to gather testimony for a comprehensive report directed by President Trump on the alleged massacre of Nigerian Christians and potential steps for the US to support vulnerable faith communities worldwide. Representatives from the US Commission on International Religious Freedom and expert witnesses presented evidence of escalating attacks on Christians in Nigeria, including mass killings, kidnappings, and church burnings.
