The death toll from severe flooding in central Vietnam has risen to 40, with six people still missing, according to the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority.

Heavy rains and flash floods have devastated the region, with nearly 80,000 houses inundated and 104 homes destroyed or swept away. The floods have also caused significant damage to infrastructure, with over 163,200 households experiencing power outages. More than 10,800 hectares of rice and other crops were submerged, and over 68,500 livestock and poultry were killed or swept away. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to clear debris, reconnect power lines, and deliver emergency supplies to affected areas.
