Wada Accuses Buhari of Playing Politics With Bailout Fund

By Editor

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to politicize the bailout fund for states. He said Kogi has not received its share months after completing all required documentation.

Wada reacted to claims by APC governorship candidate Prince Abubakar Audu and his running mate Abiodun Falake. At a campaign rally, they said they convinced Buhari to stop the release of Kogi’s bailout funds until after the November 21 election.   Through his Chief Communications Manager, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, Wada said the state will not surrender its rights despite APC’s pressure.   “We call on President Buhari, as leader for all, not to fall for the tricks of this desperate politician who caused the suffering of Kogi civil servants,” Wada said.   He condemned Audu’s alleged attempt to block funds meant for the people. He stressed that the bailout is a loan, not a gift from the presidency.   Wada urged Buhari to release the funds immediately so the state can pay its workers. He added that the world is watching how Nigeria handles the case.   “The President often preaches morality in governance. Nothing is more immoral than depriving civil servants of their salaries and allowances during hard times,” he said.       Also Read: Julien Stéphan Appointed Head Coach of Queens Park Rangers
