The White House has replaced President Joe Biden’s portrait with an image of an autopen, a device used to automate signatures. This move comes after President Donald Trump alleged, without evidence, that Biden’s use of the autopen to sign pardons and documents was part of a cover-up of his cognitive decline. 

The autopen controversy began when the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project claimed that Biden’s administration used the device to sign numerous documents, including executive orders and pardons, potentially without his direct involvement.
