General Pam Bondi Visits Alcatraz Prison

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi made a stop at the Alcatraz Island today, as part of her ongoing nationwide tour of the justice reform and preservation within the federal prison system.

Bondi toured the former high-security penitentiary, which housed some of the nation’s most infamous criminals until its closure in 1963. The visit included a walk through sites such as the main cellblock, the dining hall, and the solitary confinement wing areas that once held figures like Al Capone and “Birdman” Robert Stroud. “Alcatraz is a powerful reminder of how far our criminal justice system has come and how much further we must go,” Bondi said during a brief press interaction.  Also Read: France and UK Announce Nuclear Pact
