Leader of Foiled Benin Coup Seeks Refuge in Togo

The leader of a failed coup attempt in Benin Republic, Colonel Tigri Pascal, has reportedly fled across the border into neighboring Togo after soldiers loyal to the government suppressed the uprising earlier this week.

Security forces in Benin confirmed that the coup plot, aimed at toppling the current administration, was swiftly neutralized after loyalist troops regained control of key installations in Cotonou.
